This semi-obscure story out of Spain struck me as mildly interesting for leaving out (perhaps deliberately) key contextual details and failing to ask deeper questions. As I dug deeper it got much more interesting. See what you think.
[After] legalizing gay marriage and instituting fast-track divorce, Spain’s Socialist prime minister [Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero] has hit a raw nerve even among his supporters with a proposal to let 16-year-olds get abortions without parental consent.
The article notes, blandly, that Zapatero took power in 2004. What they fail to remind readers about is what a strong plurality of pundits agreed on, even at the time: that, had it not been for Islamic terror strikes on Madrid’s trains a few days before the election in March of that year, Zapatero would not be in power.
Score one for the strangely symbiotic, ongoing death-spiral dance between leftist thought and fundamentalist islam. Score one for the Caliphate’s return to Spain and its own unique version of the culture of death.
Some things I did not know:
…the first question Jamal Zougam (one of the arrested suspects of the Madrid bombings) asked upon arriving at the Courthouse on 15 March 2004: “Who won the election?‘ He must’ve been pleased to know that the terrorist attack achieved the desired result.
Zapatero shares a birthday (August 4th) with BHO. The former is one year older (he turns 49 this year — 7X7 perfecting… what?) In this context, that is an auspicious day indeed, as it marks the Hebrew observance of Shabbat Nachamu, “the first of seven haftarot [Torah readings] starting with the Shabbat after Tisha B’Av and leading up to Rosh Hashanah. These readings are meant to console us after the destruction of the Temple and reassure us that it will be built again.”
It’s no surprise that, like BHO, Zapatero is no friend of Israel and that an already-latent climate of anti-Semitism has blossomed in Spain under his leadership. Enemies of God’s people. Enemies of God. Enemies of life. Is the leftist-islamic death-dance starting to make a little more sense now?
August 4th also seems to mark some other major low points in the history of truth, life and freedom including the date, in 1964, that LBJ announced (i.e., knowingly lied about) the Gulf of Tonkin incident, setting in motion the Vietnam War. (Not that the VC were altar boys; far from it; but LBJ was no saint). Some still seem sore at not having had the power to nail him for it. No matter. Other scapegoats are handy 45 years later now that judicial theories have loosened to include feelings and enable easy political vendettas.
August 4th, 1914 marks the date when the U.S. declared it’s neutrality in WWI, which was really just another way of saying, we’re cutting you loose, guys; good luck! (Neutrality, as history shows, tends to be the coward’s route to enabling evil to strike compromises with good.) It’s also the date, in 1862, when the U.S. collected its first income tax. (It was not fully institutionalized until somewhat later, but as my Dutch in-laws know, even a very small leak in a very big dike is enough to cause a widespread, long-lasting mess.)
And since we’re already off on a long and wildly speculative limb, it may be worth noting that when Antiochus Epiphanes desecrated the temple in Jerusalem in 168 BC, he gave the order on his birthday, (the 24th of Kislev, which spans Nov-Dec). The order was carried out and the temple desecrated the following day. The letters of BHO’s boyhood name (Barry Soetoro) add up to 168 in English.
Did I mention it was a psychadelic limb?

njartist, the dates in and of themselves are just dates within larger patterns. Where the trouble begins is when conclusions are drawn as to what the significance is of any given event within that date.
Just as an example (and please any unreconstructed Lost Cause types, I’m only using it as an example not a debate starter) … July 4 1863; the Battle of Gettysburg. Major turning point in the Civil War right? Big famous battle known for the address given by Lincoln later. Important date WRONG EVENT.
There was another battle farther south raging at the same time… Vicksburg in Mississippi. On July 4, 1863 the town was formally surrendered to a General Grant (BEFORE he became THE General Grant soon to be President Grant). It was THAT event that effectively cut the Confederacy in half and sealed its fate.
The date was correct but the event was wrong.
The point is to love, live, laugh, and pray. Live today likes its your last and see the beauty in the world which GOD created. Though there’s darkness, as Christians we are children of the light. We live for HIM, not omens or dates. Observe, be watchful… make connections where connections can be made and draw your own conclusions. Regardless of our limited knowledge of what may or may not happen we find peace through Him who loves us. Don’t stop living… just live like He wants us to:
Live a life full of love for Him and those around us with a patient hope and a calmness of spirit that we will be going home, one way or another. Regardless of events… it all leads to the same place.

Oh oh, more omens to play with: my mother and her family were on the Lusitania’s last voyage to New York; it was sunk on its return to London. So, what do the entrails read for me on this omen.
Please. There is a point at which this magic date business has to stop: playing this game can lead to making faulty or postponing necessary decisions.

So on Aug.4, 1914, which side was so clearly in the right that we had to kill in their defense? I’m not even sure we had business getting involved in 1917, but given that German was sinking our ships, we had a reason.

As long as you are mining for symbolism, and how “it all ties in,” I found this site today:
