Of Rahms, Goats and Other Horned Animals Gore-ing Western Civilization

As a result of this post about what I believe BHO’s true identity to be (a theory many are not yet aware of, much less willing to credit, possibly including him) and the many new readers it has brought here, I thought it worth filling in more on the background/journey that brought me to this conclusion after 9+ months of entertaining the possibility and repeatedly pushing it aside as just crazy. This is not the complete picture, just another, slightly more earthly angle on it — one I expect will be far more familiar and easy to see.

Early last month, I wrote:

…the name of BHO’s enforcer, Rahm Emanuel, which in Hebrew can be translated as “Thunder, God with us.” In Revelation, thunder presages ominous announcements

The origin of Rahm Emanuel’s first name is a bit murkier. The name Raham ([רחם, pronounced rakh'·am, with an extra ‘a’, in 1st Chronicles 2:44 [the only mention in scripture] means “pity, mercy, compassion” and also, according to my hard copy of Strong’s (H7357 & H7356): “womb; cherishing the fetus”.

Take OUT the ‘heh’ (i.e., reverse the process that God took with Abram, [blessing him] when he made him ‘Abraham’, and with Sarai, his wife, when He made her ‘Sarah’) and what do you have? Rahm.

In other words, take God out of ‘cherishing the fetus’… take God out of all notions of “pity, mercy and compassion” and replace them with their twisted, earthly equivalents [add in thunder] and you have… Rahm Emanuel, the right-hand man to the guy doing more to promote abortion and persecute Israel than anyone in a generation…

Ram/[Rahm also] implies a goat… often associated with both Islam… and Satan.

I also wrote, back in March, (when BHO took a run at crimping VA health benefits — head-feinting in the opposite direction he appears to be going in now with national healthcare communist ‘medicine’) about what a hypothetical leader would do if his goal were Derrida-esque, deconstruction (i.e., systematically chain-sawing the philosophical pillars of Western Civilization):

If one were to systematically and deliberately set out to destroy everything this country has stood for since it’s founding (and I take it as self-evident that those foundational, Constitutional principles are in the truest and most enduring sense ‘progressive’, e.g., that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain inalienable rights and that among these are life, liberty, pursuit of happiness…) then there are several attributes one would need to have, and several critical, strategic things one would need to accomplish on the way to winning power and, very quickly, upon obtaining it.

Later that month, I expanded on that idea:

I am increasingly of the view that Obama is operating under an entirely different set of long-term objectives than most people assume he is. The idea of the “big lie” is that it is so big nobody will believe it until it’s too late and that anyone who does is automatically labeled a nut.

Specifically, if BHO is not attempting to “right the nation’s economic ship” and return life to roughly American/capitalist ‘normal’ in the way most people think about that, but instead is holding more steadfastly to his promise to ‘change’ than most imagine, then perpetuating a sense of crisis so as to consolidate power, shifting towards an unapologetically Socialist-European model and, erasing the distinctiveness of nations are precisely on track to his vision.

Then, yesterday, I found myself in discussion with good friend RB (H/T’d here on the update item), trying to explain how I’d come to reconcile the seemingly contradictory theories I’d laid out in an early-March post about BHOs already-evident failures (‘Bad Timing/Luck, Incompetence, or Malfeasance’). The short take: If he’s becoming increasingly effective at de(con)struction (aka, ‘change’), then how can he be incompetent? And if he’s incompetent, how can he be so effective at achieving those goals?

The conversation was extremely useful in that it forced me to crystallize my answer to that question… a kind of unified field theory of BHO that makes him, in my view, the ‘man of lawlessness’ or ‘coming world leader’ (aka, antichrist) described in scripture. If I were to sum it up in one word (and one word seldom does anything justice) it would be: arrogance.

Have other presidents been arrogant? No question. I would assert that he has taken it to a new level, in which everything needs to be superlative and responsibility for those superlatives — however flawed they may be in fact — need to track back directly to him. As but one small example, consider the words he uttered on either side of his EPT (ever-present teleprompter) crashing and shattering at/on his feet Monday (his first day back at work in his ‘third’ hundred days):

And that’s one reason why we took swift and aggressive action in the first months of my administration to pull our economy back from the brink, including the largest and most sweeping economic recovery plan in our nation’s history. If we had not taken that step, our cities would be in a even deeper hole, and state budget deficits would be nearly twice as large as they are right now, and tens of thousands of police officers and firefighters and teachers would be out of a job as we speak. And I think that all of you are aware of that.

I’m not going to elaborate on all the ways in which this reeks of arrogance. You either see it or you don’t. [I suppose that's a little arrogant on my part. I don't have my hand on the tiller of Western Civilization.]

Arrogance is the opposite of the Godly quality of humility. It is the opposite of intellectual honesty (being able to see and think clearly and admit mistakes rapidly and and move on without undue internal turmoil). It is the opposite of openness to Godly correction towards wisdom.

At its apogee (and this is hard, because much of what I’m describing here is lauded in our culture nowadays — i.e., we’re fish, attempting to determine if the water is wet and, if so, if that’s a bad thing) arrogance involves the projection of supreme, self-aggrandizing self-confidence, whether or not the same is felt. It can grade, easily and silently over into narcissism. In national and other leaders, that quality is hardly unknown, but in full flower, the disorder of NPD has been shown, throughout history, to be extremely dangerous.

By definition, arrogance and narcissism push others and their opinions aside. Including (especially) God, who by definition does not have opinions. He and His simply ARE.

In that vein, I highly recommend anyone to read C.S. Lewis’ short, lively speculative tract ‘The Great Divorce’, concerning the characteristics of hell and those who choose to go there (an infinite turning inward towards self that begins here on earth and continues for all eternity).

To the degree that Western Civilization has, at least nominally and with more than a few zig-zags and back-slides, developed along Judeo-Christian-God-fearing lines over several millennia, the man of lawlessness — the man of arrogance — seeks to change those things and remove the very foundations.

We should not be surprised when those wild ambitions come crashing down. It could not be otherwise.

In light of all this, and what I take to have been an auspicious if as-yet unheralded turning point in an ongoing spiritual war this past weekend, I thus find it unremarkable (i.e., fitting the expected template) that with the help of Rahm Emanuel, BHO is proposing to ‘ram’ through communist ‘medicine’ on a partisan vote during the sleepy summer season when it’s harder (e.g., for punch-drunk opponents) to marshal for a political fight and simultaneously make the U.S. government one of the biggest landlords since serfdom in the Middle Ages.

OK, I exaggerate… a little.  :)

In the meantime, I’m made aware, via comments, of another theory worth keeping in the back of our minds  based on another ‘big lie’ — “global warming” — and another supremely arrogant character convinced, quite literally, that he is the one destined to save the entire planet from certain doom via global government.

Hint: נגח (H5055, pronounced nä·gakh’), a verb that, especially in reference to horned animals, means “to push [aside], thrust, [or] GORE… to engage in thrusting, [to] wage war”, e.g., Exodus 21:28-32.

Of even greater interest is the use of the word נגח (nä·gakh’) in Ezekiel 34:20-24 which, in the ESV reads:

Therefore, thus says the Lord God to them: Behold, I, I myself will judge between the fat sheep and the lean sheep. Because you push with side and shoulder, and thrust at all the weak with your horns, till you have scattered them abroad, I will rescue my flock; they shall no longer be a prey. And I will judge between sheep and sheep. And I will set up over them one shepherd, my servant David, and he shall feed them: he shall feed them and be their shepherd. And I, the Lord, will be their God, and my servant David shall be prince among them. I am the Lord; I have spoken.

With what seems like almost breath-taking significance in this context though, is the use of the word in Daniel 8:4 in what has been taken to be Daniel’s vision of Alexander the ‘Great’ (remember: scripture nearly always ‘echoes’… one historical event seldom being the only reflection of a given scriptural truth). Daniel 8:3-6 reads as follows in the ESV:

I raised my eyes and saw, and behold, a ram standing on the bank of the canal. It had two horns, and both horns were high, but one was higher than the other, and the higher one came up last. I saw the ram charging westward and northward and southward. No beast could stand before him, and there was no one who could rescue from his power. He did as he pleased and became great. As I was considering, behold, a male goat came from the west across the face of the whole earth, without touching the ground. And the goat had a conspicuous horn between his eyes. He came to the ram with the two horns, which I had seen standing on the bank of the canal, and he ran at him in his powerful wrath.

There are several other uses of H5055 in scripture but I’m out of time today to research them (and probably out of your kind readers’ patience also!) Discuss.

  1. I’m responding in particular to your paragraph:
To the degree that Western Civilization has, at least nominally and with more than a few zig-zags and back-slides, developed along Judeo-Christian-God-fearing lines over several millennia, the man of lawlessness — the man of arrogance — seeks to change those things and remove the very foundations.

Succinct and to the point! And who made a speech April 14th at Georgetown University in front of a blackened out IHS symbol (RC symbol for Jesus) entitled, “A New Foundation for America?” None other than the potus. The symbology is defiant and staggering; hear the closing remarks:
It’s an America teeming with new industry and commerce; humming with new energy and discoveries that light the world once more. A place where anyone from anywhere with a good idea or the will to work can live the dream they’ve heard so much about.

It is that house upon the rock. Proud, sturdy, and unwavering in the face of the greatest storm. We will not finish it in one year or even many, but if we use this moment to lay that new foundation; if we come together and begin the hard work of rebuilding; if we persist and persevere against the disappointments and setbacks that will surely lie ahead, then I have no doubt that this house will stand and the dream of our founders will live on in our time. Thank you, God Bless you, and may God Bless the United States of America.

He’s talking about building America upon a new rock/foundation being proud and stiff-necked against God who is going to be pouring out His wrath. He knows just what he’s talking about. He also mentions light, which I have no doubt means ‘illuminate,’ a tip of the hat to his brethren.

  3. Beth… many of the founders were “deists” and context is very important. Not to go on and on with a history lesson but I think the context is important. The pilgrims who landed at Plymouth were escaping religious persecution from within the Anglican heirarchy. Lord Baltimore established the Catholic colony in what became Maryland… which by the way set the standard for religious freedom and tolerance. As the 13 colonies took shape and were under the British crown, the State religion was Anglican with the King/Queen as the Head of the Church as a result of the schimatic Henry VIII. This was solidified by his daughter Elizabeth who was queen and the founding of the Massachussetts Bay Colony and Jamestown in VIRGINIA which was named after her.

BUT the colonies were far removed and had already established a sense of separation. Once the revolution happened and the Constitution was put into place without a KING, it followed that there would be a clause stating that Congress could not ESTABLISH A NATIONAL RELIGION… the famous separation clause which has been abused to the extreme in recent years.

When it comes to dealing with the state… any state or political authority, Jesus Himself provided the standard, “Render unto Caesar what is Caesar’s, render unto God what is God’s.” Submit to the state but do not turn away from God. That is what caused the persecution of the early Christians. They were law abiding Roman subjects except when it came to WORSHIPPING the emperor. THIS is why Paul and Peter were executed. Paul especially since he was a Roman citizen. The emperor cult was the one sticking point which is what made Charalmagne so instumental. Christian peace came when the emperors ceased viewing themselves as gods.

In history, people have literally gone mad concentrating on the end times. In the mid-late 1800’s, entire communities/sects were established because they were “certain” of their math, science, virtue, etc. In some respects the messages have contradictory yet all claim “the Spirit has told them.” Well, the Holy Spirit is not contradictory and I have found He is the same as the other two parts of the Trinity… HUMBLE, PEACEFUL, and SIMPLE. IMO, that is the foundation of sound discerment. The more complicated, the less likely it is of the Spirit. MAN creates conspiracies… NOT GOD.

The world ends everyday for some people. The apocolypse is NOT the end. Its the climax. That’s why the book is called synonomously The Book of the Apocolypse or The Book of Revelation. It is the UNVEILING, the REVEALING of God’s eternal Kingdom to ALL. The final judgment must logically follow as well as the final purging of sin. Jesus bought us REDEMPTION; the FINAL act is the DESTRUCTION of SIN forever. The WORLD as we know it, then, MUST pass away. The ENTIRE world… not just a few flawed countries BUT ALL. It is the final purging we await and ALL NATIONS have a hand in it.

It will happen for us all at some point; either in death and through purgatory where we go through the spiritual steam cleaning before entering paradise since imperfection can not enter perfection without being PURIFIED (ie PURGED). Or as the apocolypse indicates, as a mass purging when He comes again. The end of time does not bring Hell on earth… it brings PURGATORY on earth through which ALL of creation is purged and sin becomes no more. Then and only then do we get PARADISE and a NEW HEAVAN and a NEW EARTH. At that point we are then MADE PERFECT so that we can be with PERFECTION forever.

    Stay focused.

  4. Thanks for your good sense, Archangel, and for taking the time to put this into perspective. Sanctify and deify. Yes there is a difference.

Although early Americans had a desire to sanctify our national heroes, they also honored our Judeo-Christian foundation (through word and deed). I’m sure that this is due to our longing for a connection to the Almighty, hoping to please Him.

I’ve read that George Washington rarely referred to Jesus by name, but he was the one who added “So help me, God” to the Presidential inauguration. He encouraged religious tolerance of all faiths – the basis upon which our nation was founded.

Was this a bad thing? Should the US have become a religious battleground, fighting for a specific form of Christianity as had been the reality in Europe? Some might say yes. But by this time Europe was tiring of religion, whereas our nation was invigorated in Great Awakenings.

I realize that some people have edged closer to the worship of our Founding Fathers at the expense of Jesus. This tone may have been set because of our striving for tolerance.

One can focus on the bad that has been done in our history, but we should not forget to honor the good. Our missionaries have gone around the world to spread His Word. China comes to mind.

Thanks again, Archangel for your very wise words.

  5. FWIW-
Much of the art during the Revolutionary and early Constitutional period was Neo-Classical. That was the style. It is no different than much of the art depicting the saints entering the kingdom. If one was to look at much of the religious art in the past, ranging from the earliest icons to the portrature of any given saint… the imagery is the same. From a historical note, the term “apatheosis” can also be rendered as god-like/saintly. It actually is applied more to John Adams and Thomas Jefferson given they both died on July 4, 1826 and were two more instrumental founders.

Its not about DEIFICATION– it was National SANCTIFICATION. National Sainthood if you will. A national sainthood within a neo-classical style wrapped in a country steeped in the Christian religion and just emerging from the Second Great Awakening.

WE are called to be God-like as well. The looking for demons under every nook and cranny is not useful nor is it mandated. Paul himself said as much. We as humans do not possess the inate power to combat them by ourselves. That is what prayer is for. We are essentially in the spiritual crossfire… the human shields if you will. As freud once said, “A cigar is sometimes just a cigar.”

The problem with demon hunting is that they like to be found. That way they can twist the mind and deceive. Its not our place to judge. Its hard enough to discern properly let alone figure out a system/spiritual conspiracy that even the Son didn’t know the time or the place. HE gave us signs. That is all so that we would know what time it was. Focus on Him. There’s nothing anyone can do about it anyway. Pray, watch, and that’s it. There are little Sodom’s and little Gomorahs all over the world. We have our share but as sure as I’m typing this; the heart and soul of God’s plan for us has a foundation within it called FREE WILL and THAT CONCEPT is what this country built on and I suspect THAT is what the demons like to attack. OUR founding documents are full of those references… more than anyother national document in any other country or people; save for the Magna Carta.

Art is art. The Washington Memorial is nothing more than another neo-Classical representation. If anyone wishes to go after the Masonic symbolism, have at it. Its been done. There’s too much “National Treasure” conspiracy paranoia flowing which takes away from the ONE TRUE thing. HIM. I’d be more concerned with my own soul first BEFORE I start trying demonize an entire history’s worth human effort.

BTW- I have an BA and MA in American History focusing on the Early Republic through the Civil War as well Christian thought and history in America. Trust me… the Masons and their little quirks are the least of the worries.

  6. Apotheosis of Washington

I can’t believe I’d never heard of this before.
Painted after the Civil War, “The Apotheosis of Washington depicts George Washington ascending to the heavens and becoming a god (apotheosis).”
I am certain that George Washington would not have approved of this painting.

I see that we did go through a time of wanting to deify some of our national heroes through art – Lincoln, too.

France did the same with Napoleon. Rather disturbing.

    • Hello Beth,
      You said,

“I am certain that George Washington would not have approved of this painting.”

Oh, he knew all right, there is a ‘Masonic memorial’ for him linked here; http://www.gwmemorial.org/index.php

And there is a link to a ‘timeline of his Masonic ‘deal doings’,
      http://www.gwmemorial.org/washington.php

Nothing is as it seems, the script was written on the ‘Plains of Shinar’ back in the reign of Nimrod.

      Giving Him the glory, Gavriel

  7. STRENGTHNING A COMMENT

The apostle John when given the revelation by Yeshua in Rev 13:1-2 SAW Daniel’s fourth beast rise up from the ‘SEA’ that “was like a leopard and had feet of a bear and a mouth of a lion”.

Recall the ‘Neptune’ mural in the dome, where he rises up from the sea?
One of the “names of blasphemy” Rev. 17:3 that is wrapped around our Capitol Dome’s forehead!

    Gavriel

[Not disagreeing with you but another interpretation of "the sea" that I've heard equates it with non-believing Gentiles, e.g., muslims, secularists, etc. The two ideas may dovetail nicely. -ed.]

  8. Archangel you said,

“I think where my skepticism bone kicks in is the American-centric nature to all this”

This is a ‘blown cover as cover’ ploy which is the MO of the ‘Conspirators of Psalm 2:1-3′ to keep your eyes off target.

The “American-centric” nature of this is that since the 1991 Madrid conference the US has been in the buisiness of BREAKING G-d’s ‘everlasting inheritance covenant’ of 1 Chronicles 16:14-18 and ‘dividing’ His land!

    A huge NO, NO!!

That is the ‘message’ that is wrapped in those six ‘15′ ft. murals wrapped inside the forehead of our Capitol Dome. A war against ‘Tyranny and Kingly power’.

They actually took counsel among themselves with the ‘principalities and powers of the air” some 145 years ago to carry out this ‘conspiracy’.

Their war plans are even in pictures for the world to see, their boldness and arrogance is incomprehensible!

One mural even shows, G-d the Father, His ‘anointed’ Son and the “woman” of Revelation 12:6 and 12:14-17 trying to escape with a ‘cannon’ underneath them!!

I have a ‘essay’ called ‘HERE IS A MIND THAT HAS WISDOM’ I would wish I could get to you but anyway, this IS AMERICA-CENTRIC to the hilt.

We are ‘doomed’ and G-d is about to pour out ‘double’ His vengeance on our land and the nations who have ALL become intertwined into this ‘Roadmap to Peace’.

We are the archetect that brought this ‘abominable’ plan to ‘divide’ His land upon the world and in a nutshell are WAITING FOR THIS MOMENT IN TIME that will fulfill multiple texts.

1.) 1 Thess 5:3, “When they are saying PEACE AND SAFETY, then sudden destruction comes upon them ’suddenly’ and they can’t escape”.

We know that the are PUSHING this ‘dividing plan’ of peace and safety as I write, so WHEN DOES IT HAPPEN?

    2.) 2 Thess 2:3-10, let me paraphrase this text. the antichrist pictured in our Capitol dome CANNOT BE REVEALED until;

He who is withholding DECIDES TO LET the ‘raiser of taxes” of Daniel 11:20 be taken out of the way THEN that “vile person” of Daniel 11:21 pictured in our Capitol dome CAN stand up!

Is there a DAY TO WATCH?

I don’t know if you are ‘aware’ of the significance of this 6:39 minute total eclipse on July 22, 2009, in that it arises in the AM eclipsing the sun and where it ends it is an eclipsed sunset!

Here’s the key, it ends over the ‘Phoenix Islands’!

I’ll leave for now, I am not a writer but a 65 year old lover of G-d’s word who put this very same message out in late 2004 and early 2005 and nobody would believe it, much less heed it.

Are you on a ‘forum’ anywhere where we can post/reply and I give you some links etc and get others involved in this ‘URGENT’ message?

I have so much to say but so little time to talk!

Thank you and thank you Art for letting me ramble. Gavriel

  9. Not denying any of the above since it is open to interpretation, but (yeah there’s always one) I think where my skepticism bone kicks in is the American-centric nature to all this. We are not the center of the world… though as the most prominent power in the world still, we as a nation do have a major role. New “Rome” if you will. A benevolent “Rome”, but still a type. Our nation has been blessed through history and has had a destiny-filled aura about it. I think that is the “specialness” we have all felt about our country throughout the years. We are a microcosm of the world.

There is one link to Daniel, though, that I categorically believe refers to us as a nation… the Dream Daniel interpreted. The statue’s base, IMO, was Sadaam era Iraq. The “rock”/force that destroyed the statue was us.

If I am right about Peter the Roman and others are correct about BHO, then our destiny as a nation would be made clear as a type of Rome providing both AC and the Vicar of Christ… an apocolyptic Ying and Yang of sorts. That being said, I will re-read those passages and chapters with your interpretation in mind.

  10. Ultra Guy,

If BHO is the antichrist, who WAS the “raiser of taxes” of Daniel 11:20 that was destroyed neither in anger or battle.

When GWB his predecessor fulfilled his eight year obligation.

I think Daniel 8, which says 4 times that it is a ‘end time’ prophecy and its “sister” Daniel 7 give us the ‘rotation’ of Presidents and Daniel 11:20-21 confirms it.

The ” rough goat” out of Daniel 8:21 from the west/Greece is GBush Sr.

The “four “notable ones” of 8:8 are Clinton-Gore and Bush Jr-Cheney.

The Lion of Daniel 7:4 and his parallel the “white horse” of Revelation 6:2 is Bill Clinton

The Bear of Daniel 7:5 and his parallel the “red horse” of Revelation 6:4 is George W. Bush

The Leopard of Daniel 7:6 and his parallel “black horse” of Revelation 6:5-6 is Barack Obama

The “subduer” of Daniel 7:8, 20 and 24 is Al Gore

Then Barack Obama fulfills the Daniel 11:20 role with the G-man “standing up in his place” when BHO is “destroyed by that “overflowing scourge” of Isaiah 28:2, neither in anger or battle.

    Lauren/aka Gavriel

[Fascinating! One thing is becoming clear in all of this: Christ is coming back soon. -ed.]

  11. Corrected link.

  12. I think it’s him. The Chicago lottery eerily was 666 after his election.
Recently, I heard that during one of the military graduations he spoke at the graduates couldn’t bring their ceremonial swords. Interestingly, I think he was the one who had the big problem with it, not the secret service. Isn’t the beast of the apocalypse supposed to suffer a wound by the sword and yet live? Of course, this is only one interpretation of that Scripture. I personally think it may refer to cloning (when they stick the needle in to the cell to remove the nucleus and then clone the image of that person). Another interpretation is that it symbolized the fatal would paganism suffered at the hands of Christianity: Ultimately Paganism would revive in the end times.

At any rate, BHO seems very uncomfortable when he has to walk down the center of an honor guard, in any county, that is holding swords. He actually looked like he was trying to position Michelle between himself and the honor guard during one news clip!

Why I thought this was weird was that if he KNOWS he is the one and he believes the Beast (Antichrist) will suffer a wound by the sword and live, that could explain a lot of his apprehension in these situations.

  13. Interesting: I read “The Great Divorce” very differently. The ghosts are held captive by their “perceptions”–by their inability to love God above all else and by their unwillingness to renounce their earthly passions. But there is an objective difference between heaven and hell, just as there is an objective difference between the perceptions of the saints and the perceptions of the ghosts. That is, the perceptions do play a part in where the soul ends up, but the perceptions themselves do not create heaven and hell.

I haven’t read “The Last Battle” though.

Certainly, though, Scripture suggests Hell is much more unpleasant than the grey town, although Lewis’ description is brilliantly awful in its own way.

  14. Yes, he does, and I love Lewis’ work. Unlike the Narnia series, I believe the Great Divorce is more a theological work, making pointedly doctrinal points, rather than clothing them in a more kid-friendly fantasy.

Not criticizing your recommendation of the book at all. Just saying that the work probably requires a bit of a disclaimer.

  15. While I greatly enjoyed the “Great Divorce”, and own a copy, one needs to take CS Lewis’ personal take on hell with a bit of scripture on the side.

His hell is merely one of perception, with miserable folk walking about left to the darker parts of their nature. OTOH, perception also creates heaven itself.

This view is also furthered in “The Last Battle”… Lewis’ fantasy treatise on Armageddon (Interestingly enough, it is a battle between what is essentially Islam, and the remnant of Christians, with a monkey as Anti-Christ…but I digress). The dwarves are those for whom hell is just a difference of perception.

It is an intellectually stimulating argument which falls flat when compared to the light of “boring” old sound theology.

All in all, a good read. Just because Lewis’ is an excellent theologian does not make his thoughts infallible. [True. If memory serves, he humbly admits as much. -ed.]

  16. “father elijah ” is the best book i’ve read in years.

  17. I kind of lumped abortions in with the 60’s decay of soul, but the point is very well taken. What really occurred to me as I read the passage from Ezekiel is that for all the waiting upon the tribulations “to come”… that passage kind of adds to my original argument that we may be in them now; and have been for the last 100 years beginning with WWI. The point about thirds is spot on, IMO. However, a point abut the context of the Ezekiel passage. That passage is a recounting of the”symbolic” siege against Jerusalem during the Babylonian captivity. But before anyone states that it is a future event as well, they must read Ezekiel 5:9

“Because of all your abominations I will do with you what I have never done before, the like of which I will NEVER DO AGAIN.”

God made a promise and does not break His promises. But one will say, what of the Holocaust. To that the answer comes from Edith Stein, a Catholic nun martyred in that Holocaust because she was a completed Jew. She saw the Holocaust coming before it began and willingly went to it. Her interpretation is rooted in Matthew 27:24-25. “And all the people answered and said, ‘His blood be on us and on our CHILDREN’”. They cursed themselves, and Edith Stein concluded the Holocaust was the fulfillment of that curse.

The Book of Revelation, it must be understood, was written amidst the persecutions of Christians. Further, the persecution was completely a reaction by the STATE (Imperial Rome) to a Christian refusal to acknowledge the emperor as a god. Once again… ARROGANCE. Much of the Book of Revelation applies to that time period, however, as it has been stated it also applies to our own time. One of the things that makes scripture so durable is that it literally resonates through time. It echoes through time. That’s why almost every period has found similarities within scripture.

Frankly, BHO to my way of thinking is the current epitome of arrogance.

BTW- If one takes a takes a picture of that messiah wannabe guy in Kenya from the 80’s and take a pic of BHO, matching the respective sizes with as close an angle possible, one could match up the eyes and nose while superimposing the two together. Eye distance and shape are relatively distinctive and are kind of like finger prints. If they match, there’s a reasonable possibility they are related. Any takers?

  18. Oh, and speaking of arrogance… remember he gave the Queen of England an iPod featuring his speeches? How embarrassing.

  19. “Father Elijah” is a great book.

AA, you forgot the abortion holocaust as both a generational and spiritual tribulation. With 1/3 of the births that should have happened aborted in the last 36 years, this is a scourge and a shame on our society.

A long time ago, I remember reading somewhere that the AC was born in 1961 or 1962. Since I was born in 1962, it made an impression on me. Wasn’t BHO was born (in Kenya, IMHO) in 1961.

[I'd be very interested, Lisa, if you can remember where you heard that the AC would be born in that timeframe. FYI, BHO was born August 4, 1961 at 7:45 PM... twilight... again!!

Re. abortions and 1/3 of children, it's notable that, in scripture, God often chastises in thirds. E.g., see Ezekiel 5:2: "A third part you shall burn in the fire in the midst of the city, when the days of the siege are completed. And a third part you shall take and strike with the sword all around the city. And a third part you shall scatter to the wind, and I will unsheathe the sword after them.", Ezekiel 5:12: "A third part of you shall die of pestilence and be consumed with famine in your midst; a third part shall fall by the sword all around you; and a third part I will scatter to all the winds and will unsheathe the sword after them.", and over and over again in Revelation. In addition to abortion, about a third of Jews died in the Holocaust. -ed.]

  20. ultraguy,

Fascinating and instructive analysis of the names “Rahm” and “Gore.”

    Kudos!

  21. As I watched & studied BHO during the ‘08 presidential campaign, like many others, I too became increasingly disturbed by this man and began to countenance the possibility that he may well be the AntiChrist.

After he was elected prez, I decided to give him the benefit of the doubt. After all, I reasoned, no one was born AntiChrist; it’s a choice freely made. A free choice each of us makes every moment of every hour of every day — to be/do good or bad. Even someone on the road to being the AntiChrist can still pull back at the last moment. Judas could have, but didn’t.

So I prayed that BHO would choose good.

Six months later, however, every indication is that he is continuing to choose otherwise.

If you haven’t read this book, I highly recommend Michael O’Brien’s extraordinary “Father Elijah,” as well as his thoughtful soul-searching letter to readers who asked him if BHO is the AntiChrist.

Good points all, Eowyn! Grace extended is not always grace accepted. We must extend it beyond all reason anyway, just as Christ has for us. -ed.]

  22. I’ve made this comparison before. What see in BHO is a Judas-type. Not in the trite “betrayal” essence but in the root cause of the betrayal. Judas held the purse. He was also a zealot. Like most, he expected the Messiah to be a political one. More than likely, he sought to have a high ranking position within the supposed new order.

It didn’t happen that way. He got less than he bargained for and out of ARROGANCE and PRIDE he rose against his Lord… hence the betrayal. In the end, what happened is commion knowledge. Now to BHO- whether he is or not the/an AC, ultimately he’s nothing more than a TOOL, a bow if you will (AM-A-BOw; his name backwards) firing the arrows of outragous fortune. His arrogance is no different that Judas’ EXCEPT he is the President who thinks he’s a KING, LITERALLY. IMO, think 1936 Hitler on STEROIDS. It is that perspective that makes the times as pregnant as they are. But just as Judas, he doesn’t realize he is a tool at this time. Its only after the fact and by then it’ll too late for him; just as it was for Judas.

His arrogance, and the arrogance of all those leaders who place themselves above all things, will be their undoing. It has always been thus.

  23. Excellent comment, AA! Personally, I don’t believe BO is the AC but he could be a type of or forerunner, at least in the state he is now in. For myself, I pray for him everyday that he will do a 180 and come to Christ. We should all pray that he does because with God all things are possible with faith.

  24. From 1st John 4:3
“…every spirit that does not confess Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you heard was coming and now is in the world already.”

That pretty much sums it all up. Arrogance is the main source… haughty arrogance. The main element of the fall of the angels as well as of man… the arrogant belief that the creation is greater than the Creator. I’m going to throw a monkey-wrench in all the AC chasing for a moment. Reference what John said above; depending on how one wishes to interpret the phrase, it can be argued that John is stating that the AC was ALREADY IN THE WORLD in HIS time. The other is that he is referring to the SPIRIT of the AC which is in the world. AC is a state of being… a type if you will. Nero in Roman times, maybe even Caligula. Anas and Caiphas within the Jewish community. Saul (before he became Paul) of all people. In our own day, Hitler, Stalin, Fidel Castro, Hugo Chavez, the Mulahs of Islam in Iran. Its not a stretch Mohammed being THE “false prophet”. The point is that to look for ONE is simply a red herring. What most are looking for is the LAST one. Is BHO it… maybe. Maybe not; as such does it really matter? If he is, there’s nothing to do about it but avoid and pray. If he isn’t… there’s always another election and we avoid and pray.

Further, we are looking to massive tribulations… events beyond our comprehension that will shake man to his core; but yet He returns like a thief in the night but people prior to it will be living normally. A contradiction except if you look over the last 100 years compared to the relative calm of the previous periods:

WWI- Anywhere from 1/2-2/3 of an entire generation was decimated with much of the land, water, air laid to waste through the use of gas and toxins. I’d call that a GENERATIONAL TRIBULATION.

WWII- An entire PEOPLE was targeted for extermination and was almost wiped out but for the grace of God Himself, IMO. Without getting into the approbriateness of the use… the ATOMIC era began with the unleashing of what looked to be Hell Fire on two cities. I’d call that a SOCIETAL TRIBULATION

1960’s- Did to the soul of society what the two wars did to society physically.

To the present- The rise of the False Prophet with the arrogance of Sharia law, teamed up with the NAZI countenance tied to famine and starvation in 1/3 of the world…

I can make the argument that in the slow motion of our finite existence when compared to the INFINITE, we have BEEN IN THE TRIBULATION ALL ALONG. I have come to the conclusion that we are to be watchers for Him, not the a/the AC. The signs are there to bring us closer to HIM. To know who the FINAL AC is, ends up only being good knowledge IF it leads to repentence and an acceptance of who WE are.

If one looks at the darkness for too long, one can go blind to the light. I’d rather focus on the light.

Just a thought- sorry for the length.

[You never have to apologize for a long comment on this blog... not when it's of the quality of your comment here. (You of all people should know that by now, AA!) :) -ed.]
