[Scroll down for updates.]
Check out these remarks by UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon at Incheon (Republic of Korea), Tuesday, August 11th:
If we fail to act, climate change will intensify droughts, floods and other natural disasters.
Water shortages will affect hundreds of millions of people. Malnutrition will engulf large parts of the developing world. Tensions will worsen. Social unrest – even violence – could follow.
The damage to national economies will be enormous. The human suffering will be incalculable.
We have the power to change course. But we must do it now.
As we move toward Copenhagen in December, we must “Seal a Deal” on climate change that secures our common future. I’m glad that the Chairman of the forum and many other speakers have used my campaign slogan “Seal the Deal” in Copenhagen. I won’t charge them loyalty. Please use this “Seal the Deal” as widely as possible, as much as you can. We must seal the deal in Copenhagen for the future of humanity.
We have just four months. Four months to secure the future of our planet.
He has no idea how right he is in broad terms, probably even with the timing. We do have the power to change course. We must do it now.
Sadly though, he draws his conclusions based on all the wrong reasons and pushes for all the wrong solutions. A ‘truth’ built on a lie (anthropogenic, catastrophic global warming) is still… a lie. Even if the edifice of politicized science, faulty reasoning, mixed motives and outright hysteria is so high and elaborate that one can no longer see the foundation built in a swamp. Even if (as a colleague put it to me) the ends seem (on the surface) to justify the means (and the road to h*ll is paved…)
The only way out of the impending death and chaos he senses is to acknowledge the one true God who formed this earth and everything else and the Son he sent down to save us from our depravity.
Yes, global warming is coming — much sooner and far hotter, I believe, than Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon can possibly imagine. Scoff now if you like. Just don’t go shaking your fist at CO2 emissions when it all goes down and tell us believers with a straight face that we’re the ones believing in vaporous myths.
More on Mr. Moon and the shifting sands of climate change here.
UPDATE I: Seems Mr. Moon (aka, ‘Ban’) — both interesting names — isn’t all that well liked or respected by much of anybody. (It’s hard to offend Putin, Kim Jong Il, OBH, the Kennedys and the anti-global-warming crowd all at the same time.)
UPDATE II: Adding more weight to the strong delusion theory (see comment thread) is fresh news of Congressional representatives doing what ought to be against their self-interest, i.e., in positioning themselves for re-election. Not to be confused with the already-reported news of the same irrational phenomenon.
“Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost” (Acts 2:38)
“Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved” (Acts 4:12)
“As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed” (Galatians 1:9)
“And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone” (Ephesians 2:20)

ultraguy,
UN secretary general’s family name is Ban, his given name is Ki-Moon. Koreans, like the other East Asians — Chinese and Japanese — put their family name first. The hyphen in Ki-Moon signals that it’s his given name.
To confuse matters, some East Asians, in order not to confuse westerners, adopt the western style and put their family name last, as in Ki-Moon Ban.
To really confuse matters, when an East Asian individual’s given name is only one character, then it becomes truly difficult for a westerner to decipher which is which.
Happily, in Mr. Ban’s case, his hyphenated “Ki-Moon” makes it clear it is his given name!

Does the word TYPO mean anything?
I’m done. You’ve made your choices and its clear context and logic don’t matter to you. Feel free to lay carrots down to create little bunny trails. Believe Prince Charles is the AC ( since he has so much power). Believe the pope is his right hand man and quote as much scripture out of context. I’m not going to waste time and fight it here on this blog.
You have exhausted me enough and by the sounds of it, others as well.

Without following your bunny trail… I miss the point unless its all in the comment section. And even then I have to say ??????
Given the “Home Owner’s” admonition and given this has nothing to do the subject save for maybe some more “one government” connection may I give you this link from an archived Anchoress post she has re-posted.

I see very little need or use to re-hash a well attended Papal Mass in our nations capitol during his last visit. Not to mention the WAPO’s take on the whole matter. WAPO’s not even worth Charmin status IMO.

It is interesting why everyone in powerful positions are in such a hurry to pass their agendas. Whatever happened to thoughtful deliberation? Are they trying to hide something?
We have had so much crammed down our throats in the past few months, that it is time to say enough is enough!
[Indeed. It's one reason the Reagan thing struck me (latest post, Thurs 8/13). Here's this thoughtful guy speaking from principles and if you take out the specific names he could be talking about today.
I won't even put labels to them, but politically there has always been one crowd that wants to ignore the wisdom of their predecessors and say "I've got this fantastic idea that just came to me; let's just do it" against another that asks, "Has someone tried something like this before? What did we learn from that experience?"
In mature innovation organizations I've consulted to, they manage to run the former impulse (new ideas) through the disciplined and yes often slow-paced thought process of the latter. -ed.]

I’m lovin’ the activity. I’m glad everyone seems to feel right at home. I learn at least one or two new things from the comment threads on most of my posts here nowadays.
But since it’s my ‘house’, can I make just one teensy, weensy little request of y’all? Please think twice about whether your comment has anything to do with what I posted before you continue on down some bunny trail chasing the other comment bunnies that may have scampered down them ahead of you.
Thanks. Carry on.

Bea when you say,
“I prefer to take my teaching directly from God.”
In all honesty, the last group who got that treatment were the Apostles.
I have to ask you this then… If that is what the Holy Spirit tells you and you resist anything from the Vicar of Christ in Rome; and the Holy Spirit tells me and millions of others the same thing and leads myself and them to the Vicar of Christ in Rome, then which is accurately coming from the Holy Spirit? As I pointed out, the Holy Spirit can not oppose Himself. That would be 2000 years of theological and pastoral development starting DIRECTLY from Peter vs. a single lifetime of your own PERSONAL Bible analysis (obvioulsy with the some ministerial help). I have to say I think the Holy Spirit works in a much broader frame of being than to reinvent the theological wheel once every lifetime.
Jesus Himself is refered to as the “High Priest” in the order of Melchizadech. He is referred to as Priestly King. And what does Melchizadech offer… BREAD and WINE which comes to its fullfillment when Jesus CHANGED the same elements to His BODY and BLOOD and asked the apostles TO DO THE SAME… conferring upon them HIS OWN PRIESTLY mantle with Peter at the head.
I am not trying top sell you anything; I’m simply pointing out the logical end of your points.
The Bible upon which you worship was put together by the Catholic Church. Who do you think chose the books? It was the councils within the heirarchy. Now I grant the differences between the NIV and NAB etc but those differences SUPERCEDED the original compilations of the early Church which was Catholic.
Obviously, it is the Bible which allows you to have God speak to you (and myself)directly… yet as I read scripture the Holy Spirit leads me to Jesus, Peter, and Rome. That is the TRUTH I find, taken in the whole; not cherry picked. There have 2000 years of theological thought development around the One Truth upon which the Whole of Christendom has been built along with one consistent thread running through the Whole. The logical extension of your mode of theological examination of scripture leads to a Moral Relativistic view of the whole of scripture. In other words… it means whatever one wants it to mean. Within the One Truth in scripture, your mode leads to potentially millions of DIFFERENT truths depending on one’s interpretation… thus diluting the REAL TRUTH.
I pray the Holy Spirit guides you to a more fullfilled Truth but you must exercise a willingness to be open to it. And that is where FREE WILL comes to dance. That is the choice we all make. Jesus comes DIRECTLY to me. I see Him at least once a week… BODY, SOUL, DIVINITY. He becomes a part of me. Why do I say that? Because HE SAID HE DOES. He promised it and I TRUST Him. I CHOOSE to believe Him. Can’t get any more direct than that in this life unless one gets the benefit of personal visions.

Bea –
We Catholics believe the Pope is the representative of Christ on earth. God always has had a rep on earth -
i.e., Moses, Noah, Abraham, David etc…
Christ gave Peter the keys to bind and loose and He told the Apostles, “He who hears you, hears Me.”
He didn’t leave us orphaned. And although there have been about 20 bad Popes, they never taught heresy. The Holy Spirit, who guides the Church, would never permit that.
All the best in Christ to you. I do understand your concerns, however. Even a financial expert said the Pope was right on when it came to the financial teachings in the document. He has a lot of heavenly help, that’s why.
PS: satan can hide behind prophecy stealing our trust in Christ. Christ does warn about going here and there seeking him.

Any idea why he said we “only have 4 months”? That seems rather strange – is there another document/statement talking about a deadline in mid-December?

Thank you for your suggestion, I prefer to take my teaching directly from God. I did read some of it but in my humble opinion he should be resisting a one world government. If we can’t learn from the past…the OT, how can we possibly understand God. Do you remember the story about the Tower of Babel? And if we don’t read prophecy how can we understand God’s desire. Jesus is the spirit of prophecy. Prophecy is very informative and there are warnings that i think we should heed. One is not to divide Jerusalem because:
Revelation 16:19 And the great city was divided into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell: and great Babylon came in remembrance before God, to give unto her the cup of the wine of the fierceness of his wrath.
I think it is unwise to go against God.

Bea – here’s a link to Caritas in Veritate – http://www.usccb.org/jphd/caritasinveritate/ – you should be able to cut and paste it into your browser. You’ll see that the Pope is asking for a one world government in the secular sense of the word – he’s looking for the coming of Christ and he’s asking each of us to do what we can to be the hands and feet of Christ in this world. I for one am glad that he doesn’t have a bunker mentality – he’s a good example for us to stay engaged in this world while we wait expectantly for the kingdom to come.
The secular media has taken a lot of what the Pope has said out of context. I can understand your concern but, like archangel, I encourage you to read the document – ask for clarification.
Hope this helps. Peace to you as you continue your journey towards the fullness of truth in Christ. We are all strangers and soujouners, working our way towards home.

Any chance that this whole climate change fraud is the great delusion? I’ve often wondered if it is.
[If you're referring to the strong delusion in 2nd Thessalonians 2:11, then the climate change stuff is probably part of it, though it's hard to say from the text how broad that reference is meant to be.
'Strong' (ἐνέργεια or en-e'r-gā-ä in the Greek) refers specifically to superhuman power.
'Delusion' (πλάνη or plä'-nā in the Greek) refers to one "led astray from the right way".
Elsewhere in scripture the term 'delusion' always refers to idolatry. In all cases it's set in juxtaposition to what people should have been doing, namely turning their eyes to God. -ed.]

This is about money and control of it! That is all this is about control of your money, my money, etc.
I don’t want a one world government and neither should you. Fortunately, any attempt to form a one world government will be thwarted by our Lord and Savior.
Rev 17:12 Revelation 17:12-14 (King James Version)
12And the ten horns which thou sawest are ten kings, which have received no kingdom as yet; but receive power as kings one hour with the beast.
13These have one mind, and shall give their power and strength unto the beast.
14These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and they that are with him are called, and chosen, and faithful.

Bea, with all due respect, PLEASE read Caritas in Veritate to get the full context of his statements. What PBXVI proposed was simply a more accountable version of the IMF. Or better put, having the IMF do what it should be doing in the first place.
Essentially we are all wanting a one world government, are we not? Given that PBXVI is the Vicar of Christ, I have a hunch he has a good idea what one world government would really work. Its called the KINGDOM OF GOD.

It’s like they know something we don’t. Perhaps they do know they have a short time!!!!!!!
[They may or may not know that in the terms we here are thinking of it. (After all, they're non-believers.) The one animating them sure does though and he's pulling out every trick in the book. One of the things that continues to concern me is our overreacting with anger or fear as that plays right into the dark one's game. With Christ we have nothing to be worried about and in fact worry, we are told, is a sin. -ed.]

A thought occurred to me today after reading that article that sometimes God allows success to show God’s hand down the road. The first time He came- Jesus allowed suffering (blindness, leprosy, death, etc) to show His miracles and each miracle had a a lot to say about God and this time around I think it could be the opposite.
[Yep. Similar idea: there's an element here of letting man's "wisdom" run its course. I.e., the current healthcare 'system' is, in fact, a mess; the proposed one is far worse. God's healthcare will be PERFECT. -ed.]
