Short, sobering, must-watch clip from what I wrote about last week.
Lord Monckon’s barely month-old remarks on what the U.S. is about to unilaterally and permanently give away at Copenhagen dovetail in some amazing ways with what one Herbert W. Armstrong had to say in a book (“The U.S. and UK in Prophecy”) originally published 42 years ago and updated in 2007.
Don’t let the date, the overuse of exclamation marks, or the non-mainstream conclusions fool you. Armstrong builds a solid case, piece by piece for those with the patience to follow his logic and super-precise scriptural and historical research.
His very big idea: Ephraim = the UK; Manasseh = the U.S.
If that means little or nothing to you, don’t bother reacting to the top-level tidbit. His thesis isn’t easy to grasp without a solid knowledge of OT events and prophecies. My own is surely spotty, but it’s clear that a great deal flows from that one big thought, including a fuller understanding of why satan (and thus islam) has the U.S. and the UK in his/their cross-hairs.
In the introduction, unwittingly presaging Monckton’s observations by several decades (truth has a way of converging from different directions for wildly different reasons), Armstrong writes, under the section heading: “World Explosion to Erupt”:
The world’s leaders are the educated of the world. But they were not educated in basic truths—the foundations of right knowledge. The most necessary knowledge is not being taught! They do not know what man is—or why! They know nothing of the purpose or meaning of life! They were not taught to distinguish the true values from the false. They did not learn the real causes—the way to peace, to happiness, to universal abundance; nor the causes of war, unhappiness, inequality, world chaos.
They know nothing of the purpose being worked out here below. Consequently, they guide humanity on a course in conflict with that purpose, wreaking havoc upon a distressed, suffering, unhappy mankind. Lacking knowledge of the way to peace, the world does not have peace. Leaders talk of peace; they profess to work for peace; they cry out for peace—while they give approval and blind acceptance to the way that produces war!
This world has simply been going the wrong way! This world is giving assent to, and conferring civilization’s acceptance on, the ways that are the causes of all the world’s ills. And now we are fast approaching the final grand smash explosion that is going to stagger the mind of man beyond the bounds of sanity. Forces are at work today on plans, programs, conspiracies, movements that soon will erupt into a world explosion of violence and chaos such as never happened before, and never will again. Men today are tampering with forces of nature they lack the prudence, knowledge, ability and wisdom to control.
The Bible often speaks of kingdoms and nations as “mountains” and of the frothing rabble of misguided, un-moored public opinion that would wash them away as the “sea” (place of suffocation and death). Armstrong’s big point is that the power of the U.S. and UK was foretold and ordained by God himself (via Jacob) over 2,700 years ago. (There are some big date things going on behind the events Armstrong relates that point to 2010 and/or 2012, but they’ll have to wait for another post).
I therefore find it more than a little ironic that the locus of fear around so-called “global warming” is the rising of the sea and that the nation giving more of itself away than any other (i.e., eroding itself and its power and plenty) under a treaty such as Copenhagen is the biggest “mountain” the world has ever known.
If Armstrong’s theory is correct, don’t expect God to sit by idly as the storm of this specious treaty, raised higher by the tide of islam, sweeps away much He holds dear. He may let it happen to chastise us, but only in pursuit of our collective repentance.
